Showering after a piercing is fine, but you should take precautions to avoid issues. Avoid submerging the piercing in water for extended periods, and be careful not to introduce soap or shampoo into the piercing. After showering, gently rinse the piercing with warm water and pat it dry with a clean paper towel or gauze.

  • Be mindful of soap and shampoo:
Avoid getting soap or shampoo directly into the piercing. If some does get in, rinse thoroughly with warm water.

  • Rinse thoroughly:
After showering, rinse the piercing with warm water to remove any soap residue or debris.

  • Dry gently:
Pat the piercing dry with a clean paper towel or gauze. Avoid rubbing, which could irritate the piercing.

  • Avoid baths:
For the first 6/8 weeks, avoid soaking the piercing in baths, pools, or other bodies of water.
